At KONCEPT® Medical Clinic we offer carefully tailored blood tests that look at the right markers for your concern, rather than off-the-shelf packages. All tests are reviewed before and after the test by one of our GMC-registered doctors. A short outcome note with a clear next-step plan is sent to your email, password-protected for security.

Private blood tests Kingston: how much do they cost?

Every blood test on this page shows a single all-inclusive price. It covers your appointment, the blood draw, laboratory analysis at an accredited UK pathology laboratory and a GMC-registered doctor’s review of your result. Nothing is added at the clinic, and the price is the same seven days a week.

How it works

Four simple steps from booking to your KONCEPT® result

Book your blood test

Online, in person at the clinic, or added during a GP consultation. Each request is reviewed by one of our GMC-registered doctors for clinical appropriateness.

2

15 to 30 minute appointment

An experienced practitioner takes your samples in-clinic. Same-day, next-day and Saturday appointments are available.

3

Accredited UK lab

Your samples are processed by an accredited UK pathology laboratory.

4

Doctor-reviewed outcome

Most results within 2 to 5 working days. A short outcome note with your next-step plan is sent to your email, password-protected. If a test takes longer you will be informed in advance.

What happens after your results. If your results are within the normal range, no further action is required. If any result needs attention, the doctor will recommend a follow-up GP consultation, either with your NHS GP or with one of our GPs at KONCEPT® (a £149 consultation fee applies if you choose KONCEPT®).

What do I need to do before my blood test?

Most private blood tests Kingston patients book at KONCEPT® need no preparation at all. A few have specific instructions, listed below.

In short: if you are not fasting and take no supplements, just come to your appointment. Drink water beforehand.

If your test includes…What you need to do
Glucose, or a fasting insulinDo not eat for 8 hours before. Water only.
Cholesterol or lipidsNothing. You do not need to fast.
CortisolCome between 8 am and 9 am.
TestosteroneCome between 7 am and 11 am, ideally without breakfast.
Female hormonesThe day of your cycle matters. We will tell you which day to attend.
ProlactinCome rested. If a first result is raised, the repeat is taken after resting quietly for 30 minutes.
Iron studiesCome in the morning, before breakfast. Water only. No iron tablets for 24 hours.
Kidney function (eGFR)Do not eat meat in the 12 hours before.
Thyroid, if you take thyroid medicationTake your tablet after your blood has been drawn, not before.
Pregnancy test (blood)No preparation. Any time of day.
Pregnancy test (urine)Use your first urine of the morning if you can, and do not drink a lot of water beforehand.
Anything elseNo preparation needed.

Everyone: drink water freely beforehand. It makes the sample easier to take and the result more reliable. The one exception is a urine pregnancy test, where drinking a lot beforehand dilutes the sample. Take your usual medicines as normal with a sip of water unless you have been told otherwise.

Supplements: biotin is the one that matters

Biotin is in most hair, skin and nail supplements and in many B-complex products. It can affect thyroid, hormone and vitamin D results. What you do depends on the dose, printed on the packet.

Your daily biotin doseWhat to do
A standard multivitamin (usually well under 1 mg)Nothing. This does not interfere with your results.
1 mg to 10 mg (most hair, skin and nail supplements)Leave at least 8 hours. Come before you take that day’s dose.
10 mg or more (high-strength products)Stop 72 hours before. Some laboratories advise up to a week.

Iron is the other one: no iron tablets for 24 hours before iron studies. Vitamin B12, folate, creatine and protein supplements: do not stop them, just tell us what you take so we can read the result correctly. For anything else, including herbal products, contact us before your test.

Keep taking your prescribed medicines unless a clinician has told you otherwise. Please tell us what you take, including blood thinners, so we can prepare.

Guidance follows NICE (NG238 lipids, NG243 cortisol, NG239 vitamin B12, NG203 kidney), the British Society for Sexual Medicine, and the Association for Laboratory Medicine. General guidance only. It does not replace advice from your clinician.

Frequently asked

Questions our patients ask before booking

How much does a private blood test cost in Kingston?

Every price on this page is the total. One figure covers your appointment, the blood draw, laboratory analysis at an accredited UK pathology laboratory and a GMC-registered doctor’s review. When comparing private blood tests, check whether the advertised price includes those: many providers quote the laboratory fee only and add a phlebotomy or admin charge at the appointment.

What is a blood test package?

A package is a doctor-designed set of markers for a whole health area, such as women's general health, thyroid or hair loss, at one all-in price. Every blood test is reviewed before and after testing by a GMC-registered doctor.

How do I choose the right package?

Pick the package that matches your concern or life stage from the women's or men's sections above. If you are not sure, book a KONCEPT® GP consultation and the doctor will tailor the right blood test for you.

Are the package prices all-in?

Yes. Each blood test price shown is all-in: a single all-inclusive price that covers your whole visit. There is no separate charge for the venous draw or the doctor's review.

Is a doctor's review included with my package?

Yes. Every package result is reviewed by a GMC-registered doctor, who sends a short outcome note by secure, password-protected email: either your results are normal with no follow-up needed, or a GP review is recommended.

Can I add a GP review to my package?

Yes. You can add a KONCEPT® GP consultation for £149 to discuss your results and agree the next steps, or see your NHS GP at no NHS charge if a review is recommended.

What is the difference between a package and the Wellwoman or Wellman Check?

A package is a blood test reviewed by a doctor. The Wellwoman or Wellman Check, at £399, is a full GP-led health review with a questionnaire, consultation, examination, treatment plan and follow-up. If the GP advises a blood test during the check, you get 10% off the blood test package.

Can I add extra markers to a package?

Yes. Every blood test is tailored. Mention any additional markers at booking or during your consultation and the doctor will adjust the blood test for you.

How quickly will I get my results, and will you share them with my NHS GP?

Most results are reviewed and returned within 2 to 5 working days. Some specialist blood tests take longer and we tell you in advance. With your written consent, we send a clinical summary to your NHS GP for coordinated care.
