Anti-wrinkle injections, also called wrinkle-relaxing injections, gently soften the expression lines that come from repeated movement, such as frown lines, forehead lines and lines around the eyes. At KONCEPT® the treatment is prescribed and performed by Dr Maryam, a GMC-registered doctor, after a medical consultation.
Consultation £150, redeemable against your treatment.
Onset
Usually visible in 3 to 7 days, with the full effect by about 2 weeks
How long it lasts
Softens lines for around 3 to 4 months, then can be repeated
Treatment areas
From a single area to several, planned at your consultation
Timing reflects the typical behaviour of wrinkle-relaxing injections, as described by the American Academy of Dermatology and NHS patient information. Individual results vary, and the treatment does not stop ageing.
Anti-wrinkle injections, also known as wrinkle-relaxing or muscle-relaxing injections, use a prescription-only medicine to gently relax the small muscles that create lines when you frown, raise your brows or smile. Softening that movement allows the overlying skin to look smoother. The effect is temporary and wears off gradually over a few months.
The medicine used is a prescription-only medicine. UK rules do not allow clinics to name prescription-only medicines in public information, so you will see the treatment described as anti-wrinkle or muscle-relaxing injections rather than by a brand name. At your consultation the doctor explains exactly what is used and why.
These injections use a prescription-only medicine, which by law must be prescribed by a suitable prescriber for the individual patient. At KONCEPT® that is built in:
Anti-wrinkle injections can soften lines and, in some areas, reshape movement. Commonly treated:
Medical history, an assessment of the muscles and lines, and a check that treatment is suitable for you.
Your doctor agrees which areas to treat and what is realistic, with pre-care guidance.
A few small injections into the targeted muscles, usually taking only a few minutes.
The effect appears over days. A review at around two weeks checks the result and balance.

Wanting to soften a line that bothers you is completely normal. Now and then, though, distress about appearance is driven by how a person feels rather than by anything an injection can change. Body Dysmorphic Disorder, or BDD, is a recognised mental-health condition in which someone becomes preoccupied with a perceived flaw that others barely notice. Research suggests it affects around 2 in 100 people generally, and a higher share, roughly 7 to 15 in 100, among those seeking cosmetic treatment.
Because your treatment here is led by a GMC-registered doctor, the consultation considers your wellbeing, not only the lines on the day. If the doctor feels treatment is unlikely to help, or that the real concern is how you feel rather than how you look, the honest answer is to say so rather than to treat, and to point you towards support such as your GP and the BDD Foundation.

They are the same category of treatment. Anti-wrinkle or wrinkle-relaxing injections use a prescription-only muscle-relaxing medicine. UK advertising rules do not allow clinics to name a prescription-only medicine in public information, which is why you will see the treatment described as anti-wrinkle or muscle-relaxing injections rather than by a brand name. At your consultation the doctor explains exactly what is used and why.
For most people the effect lasts around three to four months, after which muscle movement gradually returns and the treatment can be repeated. The exact duration varies from person to person and with the area treated. Your doctor will advise a realistic timeline for you.
You will usually start to see the lines softening within three to seven days, with the full effect by about two weeks. It is normal to see no change on the day of treatment. Your doctor may offer a review at around two weeks.
They are generally avoided in pregnancy and breastfeeding, with certain neuromuscular conditions, with a known allergy to a component, and with active infection at the treatment area. They are not suitable for everyone, which is why every treatment starts with a doctor-led consultation and suitability check. See our contraindications guidance.
When prescribed and given by a trained doctor after a proper assessment, anti-wrinkle injections have a long record of use. No treatment is without risk, and temporary effects such as small bruises, a mild headache or, uncommonly, a short-lived droop can occur. At KONCEPT the treatment is doctor-led, with clear aftercare and a route to contact us if you have any concern.
Because the effect wears off gradually over a few months, many patients choose to repeat the treatment around every three to four months to maintain the result. There is no obligation to do so. Your doctor will discuss a sensible interval for you rather than a fixed schedule.
