The most comprehensive single-panel workup for perimenopause and menopause. 28 markers covering the full reproductive picture (FSH, LH, oestradiol, prolactin, progesterone, AMH), the androgen profile (testosterone, SHBG, Free Androgen Index), the full thyroid panel, morning cortisol, adjusted calcium, CRP and the cardiovascular and nutritional baseline.
By Dr Maryam Attarzadeh, GMC-registered doctor and Medical Director, KONCEPT® Medical Clinic. Last reviewed May 2026. Next review November 2026.
The Foundation panel confirms or rules out a hormonal cause. Core adds a full cardiovascular and metabolic baseline - useful particularly before starting HRT. Advanced adds progesterone, AMH, the full androgen profile, cortisol and CRP for the most complete picture in a single panel.
8 markers - menopause hormones plus thyroid, vitamin D and ferritin.
19 markers - everything in Foundation plus full lipids, HbA1c, FBC, LFTs, U&E, B12, folate.
28 markers - everything in Core plus progesterone, AMH, full androgens, cortisol and CRP.
The Advanced panel is the right choice if you have a complex picture - suspected adrenal involvement, androgen-related symptoms (acne, hair loss, unwanted facial hair), unexplained fatigue, or you want a complete picture before starting HRT. It adds progesterone, AMH, the full androgen profile, Free T3, morning cortisol, adjusted calcium and CRP to the Core baseline.
The Advanced panel is the most comprehensive single-panel menopause workup we offer. If you do not yet have your menopause hormone picture confirmed, and want a less expensive starting point, the Foundation panel (8 markers, £338) or Core panel (19 markers, £538) may be the better entry point.
The full reproductive picture. FSH, LH, oestradiol and prolactin confirm or rule out perimenopause and menopause. Progesterone (taken at the right cycle point) adds a luteal-phase picture. AMH reflects ovarian reserve - useful for staging perimenopause progression and predicting the trajectory to menopause.
Testosterone falls steadily with age and contributes to low libido, fatigue and mood changes. SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin) determines how much testosterone is biologically active. Free Androgen Index is calculated from the two and is the most clinically useful figure for assessing androgen status.
Adds Free T3 to the standard TSH and Free T4. Free T3 is the active thyroid hormone and is the most sensitive marker for sub-clinical thyroid dysfunction, conversion problems and tissue-level effects in women who feel hypothyroid despite normal TSH.
The cardiovascular risk and glucose-handling baseline most clinicians want before initiating HRT. Includes calculated non-HDL cholesterol - the figure that best predicts long-term cardiovascular risk in women after menopause.
Morning cortisol screens for adrenal dysfunction, which can mimic or amplify perimenopause symptoms - fatigue, sleep disturbance, weight change, low mood. CRP picks up underlying inflammation. Adjusted calcium is part of the bone-health baseline alongside vitamin D. FBC, LFTs and kidney function give the wider general-health picture.
The four most common deficiencies in women at this stage - all easily corrected with supplementation. Vitamin D supports bone, mood and energy; ferritin reflects iron stores often depleted by heavy perimenopausal bleeding; B12 and folate are essential for energy, mood and cognitive function.
Online, in person at the clinic, or added during a GP consultation. Each request is reviewed by one of our GMC-registered doctors for clinical appropriateness.
An experienced practitioner takes your sample in-clinic. Morning fasting appointment required (water only, 10 to 12 hours) for accurate lipid, HbA1c and cortisol results. If you still have regular periods, the doctor will guide you on cycle timing at booking. Stop biotin supplements 48 to 72 hours before.
Samples are processed by an accredited UK pathology laboratory.
Most results within 2 to 5 working days. A short outcome note from the doctor with your next-step plan is sent to your email, password-protected.
All tests are reviewed before and after the test by one of our GMC-registered doctors. If results suggest perimenopause or menopause, the doctor will recommend a follow-up GP consultation to discuss treatment options including HRT - either with your NHS GP or with one of our GPs at KONCEPT® (a £149 consultation fee applies if you choose KONCEPT®). Where deficiencies or thyroid dysfunction are identified, supplementation or treatment can be started straight away.
Already had a Wellwomen Check (£399 personalised GP consultation)? If the GP identified a clinical need for blood work during your consultation, you qualify for 10% off this panel. Mention your Wellwomen booking reference at checkout.
Perimenopause and menopause symptoms commonly sit alongside HRT decisions, bone health concerns, weight changes and hair loss. The doctor can recommend the most useful additional panel or service at booking.

The Advanced panel is the most comprehensive single-panel menopause workup. 28 markers covering the full reproductive picture (FSH, LH, oestradiol, prolactin, progesterone, AMH), the androgen profile (testosterone, SHBG, Free Androgen Index), full thyroid (including Free T3), the cardiovascular and metabolic baseline, morning cortisol, CRP, adjusted calcium and the nutritional panel. The right choice for complex pictures, suspected adrenal involvement, androgen-related symptoms, or anyone who wants everything in one panel before starting HRT.
For women over 45, NICE guidance recommends diagnosing perimenopause or menopause from symptoms rather than blood tests, because hormones fluctuate widely month to month. For women under 45 with menopause symptoms, or for anyone who wants a clearer biochemical picture before deciding about HRT or treatment, FSH, LH and oestradiol blood results are clinically useful. The Foundation panel is designed for this picture and the doctor reviews each result in the context of your age, cycle and symptoms.
Most results are returned within 2 to 5 working days. If a specific test takes longer, you will be informed in advance.
No. You can book online, in person at the clinic, or add the panel during a GP consultation at KONCEPT®. The doctor reviews each request for clinical appropriateness before the blood draw.
If you still have regular periods, days 2 to 5 of the cycle are most informative for FSH, LH and oestradiol. If your cycle is irregular or absent, the doctor will guide you on timing at booking. Thyroid, vitamin D and ferritin are stable across the cycle.
Fast for 10 to 12 hours before the test (water only) to ensure accurate lipid, HbA1c and cortisol results. Morning appointment is required for accurate morning cortisol. Stop biotin supplements 48 to 72 hours before. If you still have regular periods, the doctor will guide you on the best day of your cycle. Mention any HRT, oral contraceptive pill, thyroid or fertility treatment.
Foundation (8 markers, £338) is the right starting point if your symptoms point at perimenopause or menopause and you want a clear hormonal picture. Core (19 markers, £538) adds lipids, HbA1c, FBC, LFTs, U&E, B12 and folate - useful before or during HRT. The Advanced panel you are looking at (28 markers, £638) adds progesterone, AMH, full androgens, Free T3, morning cortisol and CRP - the right panel if you have a complex picture, suspected adrenal involvement, androgen-related symptoms, or want everything in one go.
All tests are reviewed before and after the test by one of our GMC-registered doctors. A short outcome note with a next-step plan is sent to your email, password-protected. If results are clearly perimenopausal or menopausal, the doctor will recommend a follow-up GP consultation to discuss HRT and lifestyle options - either with your NHS GP or with one of our GPs at KONCEPT® (a £149 consultation fee applies if you choose KONCEPT®).
The Advanced panel is the most comprehensive single-panel menopause workup we offer. Beyond it, specific referrals (DEXA scan for bone density, cardiology referral for cardiovascular risk, or a dedicated PCOS or fertility workup) may be the right next step depending on what your results show. The doctor will outline this in your outcome note.
A single administration fee that covers your whole visit, charged once per visit and never per test, however many tests you book. The all-in Advanced panel price of £638 already includes it.
