Dr Ameer Al-Bassam is a specialist and interventional cardiologist who sees private patients at KONCEPT® Medical Clinic in Kingston upon Thames on a practising privileges basis. At KONCEPT® he sees adults with chest pain, palpitations, atrial fibrillation, breathlessness, dizziness or blackouts, high blood pressure or raised cardiovascular risk, and patients who need a heart check before an operation. He interprets the ECG, Holter and 24 hour blood pressure recordings made in the clinic, and carries out echocardiograms here at KONCEPT®.
He is on the GMC Specialist Register for cardiology (GMC 7471608) and is a Specialist Cardiologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, working across Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital. There he runs consultant led cardiology clinics, works in the coronary catheter laboratory and the acute cardiology service, reports echocardiograms and transoesophageal echocardiograms, and is co-lead of the trust’s virtual chest pain ward.
His procedural experience includes more than 2,500 coronary angiograms and more than 950 coronary angioplasty and stent procedures. He holds the EAPCI certification in interventional cardiology from the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions, is a member of the Royal College of Physicians, the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society and the European Society of Cardiology, and teaches medical students at Imperial College London and doctors in training.
