Who this panel is for

A complete health baseline for women, in one visit

The General Health and Wellness panel is a broad screen for women who want a clear picture of how their body is doing right now. It works well as an annual check, as a baseline before starting HRT or contraception, when you have felt persistently tired or run down, or before beginning any treatment plan. Rather than testing one system, it looks across nine at once, so easy-to-miss contributors such as low iron, an underactive thyroid or vitamin deficiency are picked up alongside the bigger picture.

Annual health check Persistent tiredness or low energy Before starting HRT or contraception Baseline before a treatment plan General peace of mind Run-down or unwell for no clear reason

If you have a specific concern, a focused panel may suit you better. The Diabetes Risk panel goes deeper on metabolic health, the Thyroid panel on thyroid symptoms, and the PCOS panel on irregular periods, acne or unwanted hair. You can see the full blood test range or call the clinic and the doctor will guide you at booking.

What this panel measures

Over 30 markers grouped into nine body systems

Blood health and inflammation

Full Blood Count · ESR · CRP

The full blood count screens for anaemia and looks at red cells, white cells and platelets. ESR and CRP flag inflammation or infection that may need following up.

Kidney function and electrolytes

Sodium · Potassium · Urea · Creatinine · eGFR

Urea and electrolytes with creatinine and eGFR assess how well the kidneys are filtering and whether your fluid and salt balance is normal.

Liver function

Bilirubin · ALP · AST · ALT · GGT · Protein · Albumin

A full liver panel checks the enzymes and proteins that show how the liver is working and whether anything is placing it under strain.

Bone and mineral status

Calcium · Phosphate · Uric acid · Magnesium

Calcium, phosphate, uric acid and magnesium give a picture of bone and mineral balance and pick up imbalances that can affect energy, muscles and bone health.

Cholesterol and lipids

Total cholesterol · HDL · LDL · Triglycerides · Non-HDL

A full lipid profile assesses cardiovascular risk, including the protective HDL, the LDL and non-HDL fractions, and triglycerides.

Blood sugar

Glucose · HbA1c

Fasting glucose with HbA1c, the three-month average of blood sugar, screens for impaired glucose regulation and diabetes risk.

Iron status

Iron · TIBC · Ferritin

Iron, total iron-binding capacity and ferritin together show your iron stores. Low ferritin is a common and easily corrected cause of tiredness and low mood in women.

Thyroid function

TSH · Free T4 · Anti-TPO

TSH and Free T4 assess thyroid function, and anti-TPO antibodies identify autoimmune thyroid disease, a common cause of fatigue, weight and mood changes in women.

Vitamins

Vitamin D · Vitamin B12 · Folate

Vitamin D, B12 and folate are checked because deficiency is common, affects energy, mood and bone health, and is straightforward to correct.

Each result is interpreted by the doctor against the appropriate reference range for you. Several markers, including ferritin and components of the full blood count, have sex-specific reference ranges.

At KONCEPT® the panel is a venous draw in our Kingston clinic, reviewed by a GMC-registered doctor, which matters most for a broad panel where consistent sample quality across many markers makes the results easier to act on.

Frequently asked

Questions our patients ask about the General Health panel

Who is the General Health & Wellness panel for?

It is a comprehensive screen for women who want a full picture of their health in a single visit. It works well as an annual health check, as a baseline before starting HRT or contraception, when you have felt persistently tired or run down, or before beginning any treatment plan. It checks over 30 markers across nine body systems at once.

What does the panel measure?

Nine systems. Blood health and inflammation (full blood count, ESR, CRP). Kidney function and electrolytes. Liver function. Bone and mineral status (calcium, phosphate, uric acid, magnesium). Lipids (total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, non-HDL). Blood sugar (glucose and HbA1c). Iron status (iron, TIBC, ferritin). Thyroid function (TSH, Free T4, anti-TPO antibodies). Vitamins (vitamin D, B12 and folate). Each result is interpreted against the appropriate reference range for you.

Do I need to fast before the test?

We recommend fasting for 10 to 12 hours, water only, before this panel because it includes glucose and a full lipid profile, which are most accurate when fasted. Keep taking any prescribed medication unless your doctor tells you otherwise, and stop biotin supplements 48 to 72 hours before as biotin can interfere with thyroid and other assays.

How quickly do I get my results?

Most results are returned within 2 to 5 working days. If a specific test takes longer, you will be told in advance.

Do I need a GP referral?

No. You can book online, in person at the clinic, or add the panel during a GP consultation at KONCEPT®. A GMC-registered doctor reviews each request for clinical appropriateness before the blood draw.

Will a doctor review and explain my results?

Yes. Every panel is reviewed by one of our GMC-registered doctors. A short outcome note is sent to your email, password-protected, stating either that results are normal and no follow-up is needed, or that a GP review is recommended. If a GP review is recommended you can choose your NHS GP at no NHS charge, or a KONCEPT® GP consultation at £149.

What is the £39 administration fee?

A single administration fee that covers your whole visit, charged once per visit and never per test, however many tests you book. The all-in panel price of £338 already includes it.

How is this different from the Wellwomen Check?

The Wellwomen Check (£399) is a personalised GP consultation that builds a tailored plan from a questionnaire and examination, with blood tests not included as standard. The General Health & Wellness panel is the blood test itself. If a GP identifies a clinical need for blood work during a Wellwomen Check, you get 10% off any Women's Blood Test.

Should I choose this or a more focused panel?

Choose General Health & Wellness when you want a broad baseline across many systems. If you have a specific concern, a focused panel may suit you better: the Diabetes Risk panel for metabolic health, the Thyroid panel for thyroid symptoms, or the PCOS panel for irregular periods, acne or unwanted hair. The doctor can guide you at booking.

How does this compare with home-kit blood test packages?

Home-kit packages post a finger-prick kit and return an algorithm-generated PDF. At KONCEPT® the sample is a venous draw in our Kingston clinic, which gives consistent assay quality across all the markers in a broad panel like this one. The result is reviewed by a GMC-registered doctor and you receive a short outcome note by secure password-protected email. The doctor review and outcome note are included in the £338 panel price.

Why pay privately if I could get blood tests on the NHS?

The NHS provides comprehensive care and remains the right route for many women. KONCEPT® complements that care for women who want a broad health baseline on their own timing, without a referral, interpreted by a doctor in one visit. With your written consent we share a clinical summary with your NHS GP so the result is added to your NHS record alongside your ongoing care.

Where is the clinic?

46 to 48 Wood Street, Kingston upon Thames, KT1 1UW. KONCEPT® Medical Clinic is opposite Kingston station, with parking nearby at the Bentall Centre.
