A comprehensive women's blood test Kingston women trust for a full health picture in a single visit. This General Health and Wellness panel measures over 30 markers across nine body systems, blood health and inflammation, kidney and liver function, bone and mineral status, lipids, blood sugar, iron stores, thyroid function and vitamins. Reviewed by a GMC-registered doctor at our CQC-registered clinic opposite Kingston Station, with results in 2 to 5 working days.
By Dr Maryam Attarzadeh, GMC-registered doctor and Medical Director, KONCEPT® Medical Clinic. Last reviewed May 2026. Next review November 2026.
The General Health and Wellness panel is a broad screen for women who want a clear picture of how their body is doing right now. It works well as an annual check, as a baseline before starting HRT or contraception, when you have felt persistently tired or run down, or before beginning any treatment plan. Rather than testing one system, it looks across nine at once, so easy-to-miss contributors such as low iron, an underactive thyroid or vitamin deficiency are picked up alongside the bigger picture.
If you have a specific concern, a focused panel may suit you better. The Diabetes Risk panel goes deeper on metabolic health, the Thyroid panel on thyroid symptoms, and the PCOS panel on irregular periods, acne or unwanted hair. You can see the full blood test range or call the clinic and the doctor will guide you at booking.
The full blood count screens for anaemia and looks at red cells, white cells and platelets. ESR and CRP flag inflammation or infection that may need following up.
Urea and electrolytes with creatinine and eGFR assess how well the kidneys are filtering and whether your fluid and salt balance is normal.
A full liver panel checks the enzymes and proteins that show how the liver is working and whether anything is placing it under strain.
Calcium, phosphate, uric acid and magnesium give a picture of bone and mineral balance and pick up imbalances that can affect energy, muscles and bone health.
A full lipid profile assesses cardiovascular risk, including the protective HDL, the LDL and non-HDL fractions, and triglycerides.
Fasting glucose with HbA1c, the three-month average of blood sugar, screens for impaired glucose regulation and diabetes risk.
Iron, total iron-binding capacity and ferritin together show your iron stores. Low ferritin is a common and easily corrected cause of tiredness and low mood in women.
TSH and Free T4 assess thyroid function, and anti-TPO antibodies identify autoimmune thyroid disease, a common cause of fatigue, weight and mood changes in women.
Vitamin D, B12 and folate are checked because deficiency is common, affects energy, mood and bone health, and is straightforward to correct.
Each result is interpreted by the doctor against the appropriate reference range for you. Several markers, including ferritin and components of the full blood count, have sex-specific reference ranges.
Once you order the panel, a GMC-registered doctor at KONCEPT® reviews the request for clinical suitability before the appointment is confirmed, so the test is right for your situation.
Over 30 markers across nine systems in a single venous draw, blood health, kidney, liver, bone, lipids, blood sugar, iron, thyroid and vitamins, rather than a narrow snapshot.
Bloods are drawn in our CQC-registered Kingston clinic by an experienced practitioner. Samples are processed by an accredited UK pathology laboratory.
Booked online without a referral, subject to availability. The clinic is opposite Kingston Station, with parking nearby at the Bentall Centre.
After the test a short outcome note is sent to your email, password-protected. It states either that results are normal and no follow-up is needed, or that a GP review is recommended. If a GP review is recommended you can choose your NHS GP, or a KONCEPT® GP consultation at £149.
If you would like a GP to discuss your health, advise on the right tests and direct further investigation, the GP-led route is the Wellwomen Check (£399), a personalised consultation building a tailored plan, with 10% off any Women's Blood Test if the GP identifies a clinical need.
Online home-kit health packages post a finger-prick kit and return an emailed PDF. At KONCEPT® the panel is a venous draw in our Kingston clinic, reviewed by a GMC-registered doctor, which matters most for a broad panel where consistent sample quality across many markers makes the results easier to act on.
| Home-kit health package | KONCEPT® General Health panel | |
|---|---|---|
| Sample collection | Self-administered finger-prick. Small-volume samples are more prone to assay variability, which matters across a broad multi-system panel. | Venous draw in-clinic by an experienced practitioner, giving consistent assay quality across all the markers. |
| Who reviews the result | Algorithm-generated PDF. Doctor commentary is often a paid add-on, sometimes by an unnamed locum unfamiliar with your history. | Reviewed by a GMC-registered doctor, with a short outcome note by secure password-protected email. The doctor review is included in the £338 price. |
| Result delivery | Emailed PDF, with the interpretation left largely to you. | A plain-English outcome that states either normal, no follow-up needed, or GP review recommended. |
| Action when something needs follow-up | "See your GP." No onward route. | Discussed with the reviewing doctor, with referral or a KONCEPT® GP consultation as appropriate, and a summary shared with your NHS GP. |
| Regulation | Online retailer. No CQC oversight of clinical interpretation. | CQC-registered private clinic. GMC-registered doctors. ICO-registered for data protection. |
| Sharing with your NHS GP | Not offered. You would email the PDF yourself. | With your written consent, a clinical summary is sent to your NHS GP so records stay joined up. |
The NHS provides comprehensive care and remains the right route for many women. KONCEPT® is designed to complement, not replace, that care, for women who would like a broad health baseline on their own timing. Where helpful, we share results with your NHS GP for continuity.
| Standard NHS approach | What KONCEPT® adds | |
|---|---|---|
| Booking and access | Via your registered NHS GP, subject to local appointment availability and clinical prioritisation. | Book directly without a referral. Same-day, Saturday and out-of-hours appointments at the Kingston clinic, subject to availability. |
| Scope of first-line testing | Blood tests are usually requested to investigate a specific symptom, so a broad multi-system screen is not always offered unless clinically indicated. | A comprehensive over-30-marker panel across nine systems is available on request as a baseline, interpreted against your history. |
| Time with the reviewing doctor | Length of GP consultation varies by region and provider. | A 30-minute consultation with a GMC-registered doctor is offered alongside the panel for women who would like one. A written plain-English outcome note is included. |
| Onward specialist input | Referral routes and waits vary by region, specialty, clinical urgency and provider. | If onward input is helpful, the reviewing doctor can refer to a private specialist or support continuity with your NHS GP. |
| Cost | Free at the point of use. | All-in £338 (£299 test fee plus the one-off £39 administration fee). |
| Continuity with your NHS record | Tests are added to your NHS record automatically. | With your written consent, a clinical summary is sent to your NHS GP so the result is added to your NHS record alongside your ongoing care. |
NHS provision varies by region and clinical context, and the NHS pathway remains appropriate for many patients. KONCEPT® encourages continued NHS GP involvement and shares clinical summaries with your NHS GP on request. General guidance on health checks is available from the NHS Health Check.
Online, in person at the clinic, or added during a GP consultation. Each request is reviewed by one of our GMC-registered doctors for clinical appropriateness.
An experienced practitioner takes your sample in-clinic. We recommend fasting for 10 to 12 hours, water only, beforehand for accurate glucose and lipids. Stop biotin supplements 48 to 72 hours before.
Samples are processed by an accredited UK pathology laboratory.
Most results within 2 to 5 working days. A short outcome note from the doctor with your next-step plan is sent to your email, password-protected.
All tests are reviewed before and after the test by one of our GMC-registered doctors. If everything is normal, the outcome note confirms no follow-up is needed. Where a result needs attention, the doctor will recommend a GP review, either with your NHS GP or with one of our GPs at KONCEPT® (a £149 consultation fee applies if you choose KONCEPT®). Where deficiencies are identified, supplementation or treatment can be started straight away.
Had a Wellwomen Check (£399 personalised GP consultation)? If the GP identified a clinical need for blood work during your consultation, you qualify for 10% off this panel. Mention your Wellwomen booking reference at checkout.
A general health baseline often points to a more focused next step. The doctor can recommend the most useful additional panel or service at booking.

It is a comprehensive screen for women who want a full picture of their health in a single visit. It works well as an annual health check, as a baseline before starting HRT or contraception, when you have felt persistently tired or run down, or before beginning any treatment plan. It checks over 30 markers across nine body systems at once.
Nine systems. Blood health and inflammation (full blood count, ESR, CRP). Kidney function and electrolytes. Liver function. Bone and mineral status (calcium, phosphate, uric acid, magnesium). Lipids (total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, non-HDL). Blood sugar (glucose and HbA1c). Iron status (iron, TIBC, ferritin). Thyroid function (TSH, Free T4, anti-TPO antibodies). Vitamins (vitamin D, B12 and folate). Each result is interpreted against the appropriate reference range for you.
We recommend fasting for 10 to 12 hours, water only, before this panel because it includes glucose and a full lipid profile, which are most accurate when fasted. Keep taking any prescribed medication unless your doctor tells you otherwise, and stop biotin supplements 48 to 72 hours before as biotin can interfere with thyroid and other assays.
Most results are returned within 2 to 5 working days. If a specific test takes longer, you will be told in advance.
No. You can book online, in person at the clinic, or add the panel during a GP consultation at KONCEPT®. A GMC-registered doctor reviews each request for clinical appropriateness before the blood draw.
Yes. Every panel is reviewed by one of our GMC-registered doctors. A short outcome note is sent to your email, password-protected, stating either that results are normal and no follow-up is needed, or that a GP review is recommended. If a GP review is recommended you can choose your NHS GP at no NHS charge, or a KONCEPT® GP consultation at £149.
A single administration fee that covers your whole visit, charged once per visit and never per test, however many tests you book. The all-in panel price of £338 already includes it.
The Wellwomen Check (£399) is a personalised GP consultation that builds a tailored plan from a questionnaire and examination, with blood tests not included as standard. The General Health & Wellness panel is the blood test itself. If a GP identifies a clinical need for blood work during a Wellwomen Check, you get 10% off any Women's Blood Test.
Choose General Health & Wellness when you want a broad baseline across many systems. If you have a specific concern, a focused panel may suit you better: the Diabetes Risk panel for metabolic health, the Thyroid panel for thyroid symptoms, or the PCOS panel for irregular periods, acne or unwanted hair.
