A chemical peel removes damaged surface skin in a controlled way to bring through fresher, smoother skin, improving tone, texture and dullness. At KONCEPT® peels are doctor-led, using the Obagi range from a superficial refresh to medium-depth, performed by Dr Maryam, a GMC-registered doctor.
Consultation £150, redeemable against your treatment.
Skin renewal
The skin renews its outer layer roughly every 28 to 40 days
Controlled exfoliation
A peel works with that cycle, removing damaged surface cells in a measured way
Doctor-led depth
From superficial refresh to medium-depth, matched to your skin
Skin-turnover figures are widely reported in dermatology and vary with age and skin type. A peel supports the skin’s renewal rather than forcing a result. Individual results vary.
A chemical peel applies a carefully chosen solution to the skin for a short time. It loosens and removes damaged cells on the surface, and at medium depth it prompts renewal a little deeper, encouraging smoother, more even skin to come through. The depth and strength are chosen by your doctor to match your skin and your goal.
At KONCEPT we use the Obagi range. A superficial peel gives a refresh and glow with little downtime. Medium-depth options work on more established concerns and involve a few days of light flaking as the skin renews.
Peel strength and skin preparation matter, and the stronger options are medical treatments. At KONCEPT®:
We match the peel to your skin rather than selling a one-size package:
Skin assessment and history, and the right peel and strength chosen for you.
Skin preparation where needed, for example Nu-Derm before a TCA peel.
The solution is applied for a short, controlled time. A superficial peel takes only a few minutes.
Skin refreshes over the following days. Your doctor reviews and plans any course.
Consultation £150, redeemable against your treatment. The right peel and plan are confirmed at your consultation. See the complete aesthetic price list.
Wanting clearer, brighter skin is completely normal. Sometimes, though, distress about appearance comes more from how a person feels than from anything a treatment can change. Body Dysmorphic Disorder, or BDD, is a recognised mental-health condition in which someone becomes preoccupied with a perceived flaw that others barely notice. Studies suggest it affects around 2 in 100 people generally, rising to roughly 7 to 15 in 100 among those seeking cosmetic treatment.
Because your treatment here is led by a GMC-registered doctor, the consultation looks at your wellbeing as well as your skin. If a doctor feels a peel is unlikely to help, or that the real concern is how you feel, the honest answer is to say so rather than to treat, and to point you towards support such as your GP and the BDD Foundation.
A chemical peel applies a medical-grade solution to the skin to remove damaged surface cells in a controlled way, prompting fresher, smoother skin to come through. Peels range from a superficial refresh to medium-depth. At KONCEPT peels are doctor-led, using the Obagi range, and matched to your skin at a consultation.
By exfoliating the skin in a controlled way and prompting renewal, a peel can improve tone, texture, dullness, some pigmentation and congestion. The Obagi Blue Peel Radiance gives a refresh and glow, while the medium-depth TCA peel and the Nu-Derm regime work on more established concerns. Your doctor advises which suits your skin and goals.
The Obagi Blue Peel Radiance is £260 per treatment, with course pricing available. The medium-depth TCA peel is £295, and the Nu-Derm prescription regime is £750. The full price list is on our aesthetic prices page and your plan is confirmed at consultation.
Medical peels are well established and, performed by a doctor after a skin assessment, have a good safety record. Stronger peels carry more downtime and are doctor-only for that reason. Peels are not suitable for everyone, for example with active infection, certain skin conditions, or in pregnancy. See our contraindications guidance.
A superficial peel usually feels like mild tingling or warmth during the few minutes it is on the skin. Medium-depth peels can feel stronger. Afterwards the skin may look pink and then flake or peel lightly for a few days as it renews. Your doctor explains what to expect for the peel chosen.
A superficial Radiance peel usually involves little or no visible peeling and most people return to normal activities quickly. A medium-depth peel involves a few days of flaking and renewal. See our aftercare guidance for what is normal and when to contact the clinic.
Peels can be part of a doctor-led acne plan, alongside prescription skincare where appropriate. Rather than a fixed package, we offer a medical consultation, a course of the right peel for your skin and prescription treatment where needed. This is a medical approach to acne, planned and reviewed by a doctor.
Some peels are avoided in pregnancy and breastfeeding, so let us know at your consultation and we will advise. A superficial option may be suitable in some cases, but this is assessed individually by the doctor.
