Profhilo is an injectable skin booster made from stabilised hyaluronic acid. It hydrates the skin and improves firmness and elasticity over a course, rather than adding targeted volume like a filler. At KONCEPT® every treatment is placed by Dr Maryam, a GMC-registered doctor, after a medical consultation.
Consultation £150, redeemable against your treatment.

Hyaluronic acid figures from a peer-reviewed review of its effects on skin. Profhilo improves hydration and firmness over a course, results are maintained over time.
Profhilo is one of the best-known skin boosters. It is made from stabilised hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the skin and is central to hydration and repair. Placed at a small number of points, it spreads under the skin and acts as a bio-remodelling treatment, improving hydration, firmness and elasticity over a planned course.
Unlike a dermal filler, Profhilo is not used to add targeted volume or change shape. It works on the overall quality and health of the skin, on the face, neck and hands.
Both are skin boosters that improve skin quality rather than adding volume, and a doctor helps you choose. As a guide:
| Profhilo | Polynucleotides | |
|---|---|---|

Some patients suit a combination. Read more about polynucleotides, which we often prefer for the delicate under-eye area.

Wanting to look refreshed is completely normal. For some people, though, distress about a feature is driven by how they feel rather than by how it looks, and treatment does not settle that distress. Body Dysmorphic Disorder, or BDD, is a recognised mental-health condition of this kind, and it is more common among people seeking cosmetic treatment, where studies report around 7 to 15 in every 100 may be affected, compared with about 2 in every 100 people generally. Because your treatment is led by a GMC-registered doctor, your consultation considers your wellbeing as well as your skin. If a treatment is unlikely to help, the caring answer is to say so and to point you towards support, including your GP and the BDD Foundation.

Both are skin boosters that improve skin quality rather than adding volume. Profhilo is hyaluronic acid and works mainly on hydration, firmness and elasticity. Polynucleotides are purified DNA fragments that support the skin’s own repair, and are often chosen for thin areas such as under the eyes. A doctor helps you choose, and the two can sometimes be combined.
The standard course is two sessions four weeks apart, with maintenance sessions afterwards, usually around every six months, because hydration and firmness are maintained over time. Your doctor sets a realistic plan at your consultation. Results build over the weeks following treatment.
Profhilo is £350 for a single session and £892.50 for a course of three, a saving of £157.50. The full price list is on our aesthetic prices page, and your plan is confirmed at your consultation.
Profhilo is placed at a small number of points, and most patients find it comfortable. Small raised lumps at the injection points are normal and settle within hours to a day. Downtime is usually short. Full pre-care and aftercare guidance is provided.
Profhilo is generally avoided in pregnancy and breastfeeding, with active infection at the area, and with a known allergy to hyaluronic acid or any component. Care is needed with blood-thinning medicine and autoimmune conditions. Your doctor checks suitability at the consultation. See our safety and aftercare page.
Profhilo is given as a short course, usually two sessions about four weeks apart, and the result builds over the following weeks rather than immediately. Many patients maintain the effect for around six months, after which a maintenance session can be planned. Your doctor sets a realistic timeline at your consultation, and individual results vary.
Profhilo is a skin booster, not a dermal filler. A filler adds volume and shape to a specific area. Profhilo is a hyaluronic acid treatment that spreads through the skin to improve hydration, firmness and overall quality across a wider area, without sculpting or adding volume the way filler does. If your goal is volume or contour, a doctor may discuss filler instead, or a combination, at your consultation.
